About
Rodolfo’s first dive ever was in the early 90’s during a trip to Acapulco, Gro. In Mexico. He liked it so much that once he got back to Mexico City looked for scuba instruction.
He completed 1-, 2- and 3-Star Diver certifications with CMAS, but wasn’t interested in becoming an instructor, so looked for a PADI Instructor and started from AOWD, he just wanted to dive!
Soon after he completed his PADI Divemaster, his instructor, mentor and excellent friend, Vicky, became Course Director and told him “you are going to be in my first IDC”, so he signed up! Not sure if he had a choice, but glad he did! It literally changed his life!
Back then in Mexico, scuba diving was just Rodolfo’s hobby, he was Key Account Manager for a Swiss company in the ink business, and occasionally teaching scuba to some family and friends.
In 2002 he moved with his family to US, and while looking for a job in sales, saw a scuba instructor opportunity, and applied. Three months later he was running the scuba department, and started moving through the PADI ranks becoming Course Director in 2006 and PSI-PCI Instructor in 2007. Scuba diving had become his profession at that point.
When Rodolfo was working at the dive shop in Las Vegas lead to work at some of the bigger productions in Las Vegas, the ‘Le Rêve’ Show at Wynn, where he worked for a year and a half as a Diver Technician, and the “O” Show at Bellagio by Cirque Du Soleil, where he worked for seven years and a half as an Artist Handler, and scuba gear repair technician.
Rodolfo was conducting Instructor Development Courses in Las Vegas for three stores, and working at the “O” Show by Cirque du Soleil, when an opportunity came his way to work for PADI Americas as a Training Consultant, and Instructor Examiner, and just like that scuba diving became his full time profession, and relocated to California, leading to many travels from Hawaii to Florida, and from Pennsylvania all the way to Chile and Patagonia in Argentina, and of course the Caribbean. These multiple trips lead not only to awesome destinations, but met some of the most amazing people, with whom he keeps in touch and became very good friends.
Currently is Southwest Regional Manager for Cressi USA, the Course Director of record of one of the oldest dive centers in the world, running IDC’s independently, teaching PSI-PCI courses and he still is also PADI Part Time Examiner. But most important he still enjoys diving and dives for FUN!
Let’s train together!
